This was our first year doing The Visionary Tattoo Arts Festival, in Asbury Park, NJ. So good to reconnect with old friends and meet new people who we hope to build solid relationships with, both clients and tattoo artists. It also didn’t hurt the convention was held on the boardwalk!
We got into town the day before to try and get some work done, and clearly our office was jam packed.
Nothing old here about Old Glory flying proudly at the beach.
The Asbury Park Convention Hall where the Visionary Arts Tattoo Festival is held was built in the early 20th century and is simply beautiful!
Since the convention hall wasn’t open for us to start setting up Thursday, a good portion of the afternoon was spent walking up and down the boardwalk. While doing so, I found Mogo Korean Fusion Tacos. This boardwalk food stand inside two shipping containers produces some of the most amazing fusion tacos ever, go to the beach just for these!
Our booth was second in the door on the right-hand side, corner position and hard to miss with the bright orange table cloth. One of these days I’ll remember to pack the steamer for the events!
Our good friend Kendra Greaves, an amazing aerialist, performed each day of the festival. If you’ve never seen her perform, you simply must.
Saturday started the 12-hour, second day of the festival. The view from the bleachers really showed how well our booth stood out, which in turn led to us doing endless tattoo removal consultations.
We were right under Tillie by the entrance / exit of the Convention Hall, an Asbury Park icon.
The Asbury Park Convention Hall is as beautiful at night as during the day. It was a pleasure to leave just after midnight every night to walk along the boardwalk with friends, eat food and see this sight on the way back to the hotel.
We had a free-to-enter raffle this weekend, and it’s now time to announce the winner! Pulled at random, the winner of a free laser tattoo removal treatment is Megan Delp. We’ll be emailing you shortly Megan, thanks to everyone who entered.
This 3-day weekend was amazing, and went by far too fast. We’d like to thank Shannon and Jon Jon from Triple Diamond Tattoo for being such amazing hosts for our first visit to their festival this year. It’s always an honor to be involved with tattoo conventions and hang with so many Instagram-friends that live too far to get together with on a regular basis. Such rad art, tattoos, high-fives and good times happened this weekend and we’re already looking forward to next year.
Huge thank you also goes out to all our existing clients who stopped by and all the new clients we met and had the chance to discuss laser tattoo removal treatments with.
