Our third year back to the Skindustry Tattoo Expo and first year at the new location, Sands Event Center. This being our hometown show, it’s great to walk in and know virtually everyone who had a booth setup and was tattooing. Kind of like a big family reunion, since so many of us work so hard every day we don’t get to really hang out together often, and Skindustry is a great place for us to all meet.
At tattoo conventions, we are there to help educate people about laser tattoo removal, how it can benefit a cover-up tattoo and how the whole process works. The laser tattoo removal videos we played in the booth really had people stopping in their tracks.
Friday morning was unique, blue skies and wispy clouds, temps in the low 40’s and rising to the mid-50’s. Hard to believe it wasn’t but a week and a half earlier we had nothing but snow and grey skies. It was a great drive to the Sands Convention Center to setup our booth.
We’re really happy with how the booth looked, combined with the lighting and super high ceilings of the Sands Convention Center along with their unique floors really made everything pop!
Saturday morning started off with a Bethlehem North Side institution, Billy’s Downtown Diner and their short rib benny special. Amazing.
it was also a great time to stop out in the Vision Bar area where our long-time supporters and friends, Modern Male Barbershop were setup selling their products, cutting hair and trimming beards.
Gentleman, man up and stay sharp with some of the best group of barbers out there. They’ve been our barber for some time now.
Nicky The Barba showing off the Modern Male Beard Oil which tamed a good number of beards during the 3-day convention. It’s available online, along with a ton of their other amazing products.
The backside of our booth from the convention floor, can never have too much orange!
Sunday morning we kept things on the South Side of Bethlehem to hit up another breakfast institution, Blue Sky Cafe, for cinnamon bun pancakes. Honestly, a nap was needed after devouring these but thankfully we also loaded up on coffee!
As we rapped up Sunday this happened. Tattoo artist and client Ken Tackash and Mike were unknowingly #twinning the entire convention. Even during a busy convention we were able to get some selfies in!
We had a free-to-enter raffle this weekend, and it’s now time to announce the winner! Pulled at random, the winner of a free laser tattoo removal treatment is Shannon Lamond. We’ll be emailing you shortly Shannon, thanks to everyone who entered.
We can’t thank everyone who stopped and talked with us, bought gift cards and gave high-fives this weekend. A huge thank you also goes out to Steve from The Quillian for once again bringing such an amazing group of artists together and putting on such an amazing event. It’s hard to believe this is already our third year doing the Skindustry Expo and we look forward to it every year.
It was amazing to see so many of our clients come through and show support, both locals and those who travel in from New York, New Jersey and all over Pennsylvania. It seemed all too common place for Marcus or Mike to be explaining how tattoo removal works while the video was playing in the background only to be cut off by one of our rad clients who happened to be there to say, hey look at how great this is fading, these are the only guys you want to go to for tattoo removal / fading. For that support, we’re eternally grateful.
Next up, Electric City Tattoo Convention, April 17-19, 2015.
