Coppertone Tattoo Guard

Coppertone Tattoo Guard

Just because summer isn’t here yet there is no excuse to ignore the harmful effects of the sun on your skin, and your tattoos.  One of the world leaders in sun protection, Coppertone, have developed a line specifically for us tattooed folk, and those who no longer have them.  With an SPF of 50, it only gets better with these added benefits:

  • Moisturizing formulas help maintain smooth appearance of tattooed skin
  • UVA/UVB sunscreen helps protect against UV rays that can fade or blur tattoos
  • Portable
  • Photostable, broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection
  • Water resistant (80 minutes)
  • Hypoallergenic

Like all sunscreen, it’s only effective if you apply it, and reapply often.  Available in 2oz bottles, Tattoo Guard is a perfect size to keep one in your car and one at home, even another at the office.  If you work outside, it’s critical that you continue to care for your skin, year round.  Here in Pennsylvania temperatures will only be cresting 50 this weekend, warm enough for many to shed the hoodies and jackets of a cold spring and venture outside to enjoy some vitamin D.  Just because you aren’t at the beach doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be protecting your skin though, and the tattoos and time you’ve invested in them.  If you have face, neck or hand tattoos, it’s even more important to regularly protect them with a sunscreen to avoid premature fading of pigments due to exposure.

Sunscreen is also essential for our clients who are going through treatment, regardless if the end goal is a cover-up or removal. We strongly recommend sunscreen with an SPF of 50 or higher to all of our clients whenever they will have skin exposed to the sun and elements.  Coppertone’s new product meets these needs.

If your local store doesn’t carry Tattoo Guard, it’s available on Amazon.
